Though Doris Singleton is better known for her film and television appearances she got her start during the late 1930s as a vocalist with Art Jarrett's orchestra. Singleton also appeared with the New York Ballet for three seasons and had her own singing radio show on station WNEW. She was a regular on radio and appeared in numerous television programs during the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. Her most famous role was the recurring character Carolyn Appleby, Lucy Ricardo's arch-enemy on I Love Lucy. Singleton currently lives in Los Angeles.
