Marlin "Whitey" Kaufman organized his dance band in the early 1920s while attending Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania. This eleven-piece outfit, known as the Pennsylvania Serenaders, toured coast to coast and recorded for Victor during the mid-1920s. The Serenaders remained active until the late 1930s.
