Vocalist Carolyn Grey worked with Sonny Dunham in 1944. She also sang with Woody Herman's orchestra. Grey was working in an unnamed intermission band in 1946 when Gene Krupa borrowed her to replace the suddenly departed Anita O'Day. He liked her so much that he hired her permanently. She stayed about a year.
