Vocalist Bill Darnell sang with Red Nichols in 1940. He also sang with Bob Chester. Darnell did solo work in the late 1940s and early 1950s. In 1950 he charted hits for Coral Records with ''Chatanooga Shoe Shine Boy'' and ''M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I,'' with the Heathertones. In 1953 he hit with ''Tonight, Love'' for Decca and in 1955 with ''A Million Thanks'' for X Records.
