Violinist Reggie Childs led a sweet orchestra during the 1930s and 1940s. The group featured a clarinet quartet. Vocalists included Jimmy DiPalma (Jimmy Palmer) and Gloria Gale (Miriam Shaw) during the late 1930s, Paul Carley and Lucille Doran during the early 1940s, and Helen Merrill in 1946 and 1947. The band recorded for Decca in the late 1930s. It also recorded on the Varsity label.
